The “OK” Symbol is a hand gesture typically used to signal that “all is well.” The symbol has been frequently associated with supporters of the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump, with some speculating it is used by members of the alt-right to mimic a Smug Frog depiction of Pepe the Frog. Additionally, the symbol has been accused of being a symbol for “white power” following a 4chan hoax operation to trick news media outlets into reporting that it is a symbol of white supremacy.
Stan Says: it’s OKAY to be or use the OK Symbol.
A friend of V.o.W pointed out the use of the 👌 sign in a photo we posed in on a Carousel in Swansea and may be misconstrued.
Dan and I had for months been under extreme pressure and threat of Court up until 3.30 the day before the photo was taken.
The chances of getting the message out to stop people attending Court was slim and decided that we would attend despite all proceedings against us dropped. The spurious and vexatious rantings of South Wales Police and the prosecution would have been laid bare had the show trial proceeded in any event.
After attending the court we showed our relief in what we see as the true Dan & Stan style – take a swipe at ‘The Left’ and those who would do us harm.
In the post we wrote: “If it’s good enough for the Taliban it’s good enough for TaliDan and TaliStan.” And we thought showing everyone we where O.K., and the relief we felt in the moment, we happen to do this through using used the O.K hand symbol.
We will not allow the use of everyday language ‘banned by the BBC or Guardian Reader’ to curb our language or any other symbol just because they think it’s ‘naughty’ or inappropriate to use, say or do.
