It is not unusual for politicians to lash out at leaders of other political parties, especially when they are running to become the next Prime Minister. However, do we think that Liz Truss is being sincere when lashing out at Mark Drakeford, Keir Starmer, and Nicola Sturgeon? To be honest, I have no idea, that’s for you to decide on your own. Saying that, bare in mind that both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak are WEF candidates, and despite if it looks like they are on our side, it’s tradition for politicians to lie, especially if they are from mainstream political parties like Labour or Conservative.

During the notorious hustings event in Cardiff – a broadcasted meeting of which candidates address potential voters and allow them to ask questions on certain policies and topics – Liz Truss described the Welsh Labour Leader and First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford as a “low-energy Corbyn” by stating the Conservatives would be able to “take on the low energy version of Jeremy Corbyn that is Mark Drakeford” by “Delivering for people on the ground.” She further explained ,“the fact is there are too many people in this country who are ashamed of our history, who talk our country down, who say the best days are behind us. They are completely wrong. I’m afraid one of them is Mark Drakeford.” 

Furthermore, again at the hustings event in Cardiff, she also dubbed Keir Starmer (I personally refuse to call him sir after realising that Jimmy Savile was also knighted) a “plastic patriot”, and the week before she called him a “patronizing plastic patriot”.

On Monday, while speaking in Exeter, Truss described Truss as an attention seeker, after being pressed over how “she would tackle the growing separatist sentiment in Scotland”, responding with “the best thing to do with Nicola Sturgeon is ignore her. I’m sorry she’s an attention seeker, that’s what she is.”
