Pontins has confirmed that two of its six UK sites have been identified as potential camps for the thousands of Afghans airlifted from the Taliban stronghold Kabul.

With Wales now declared a Nation of Sanctuary, and votes in future Senedd elections extended to Foreign Nationals, Dan and Stan predicted when businesses starting closing, due to lockdowns, that the already struggling Pontins would be next in line to become a camp for the undocumented, economic migrants, but little did we know at the time, these men would be coming from Afghanistan.

Voice Of Wales were the only media team on the ground in Penally, every step of the way, bringing you all the content from the side of the locals who were against the camp, and the side of the non locals (Stand up to racism) who were all in favour of the camp.

What was to follow was a real shock to everyone! Especially those living around the Penally camp. These are just some of the headlines that followed in the coming months.

These concerns were raised before any of the illegal migrants arrived, but within days, started to come true. Voice Of Wales have the exact same concerns regarding Prestatyn.

Prestatyn is a beautiful sea side town renowned for its tourist and hospitality industry. How many people would choose to holiday in a place with headlines like this?

Government Sources said the holiday park firm has offered its sites as housing. There have already been calls for Pontins holiday park to close for fears of giving the area a “bad reputation”

We worry at Voice Of Wales, what the reputation of Prestatyn would be if another large migrant camp was to go ahead.

Voice Of Wales have contacted all of the Senedd members, MP’s and Councillors of the area for comment, we will update you as and when they come in. Below is the details if you would like to contact them yourself.

This plan is not yet confirmed, but if there was a lesson to learn from Penally, it is that the Constituents should not rely on being informed of local plans by the local government representatives, the opposite is true, Politicians and councillors have shown in other areas they will bury their heads, hide bad news, and later deny any prior knowledge about problems or major changes. The reality is we know nothing about these people coming to the camps, some warnings were released about persons being on the ‘no fly list’ and its the locals who will pay the price.

With there being 16 elected officials which cover Prestatyn and the party with the majority being the Welsh Conservatives you would imagine there would be some push back on this idea so this will show how true to their name the Welsh Conservatives are. Here is how the area is broken down.

  1. I have very grave concerns about letting 20,000+ unvetted unknown Aliens into our Country and communities across the United Kingdom. The French have already warned us that Guns are being brought in with this ARMY of mainly young men who are flooding into this Country by Dinghy and being smuggled into Britain via lorries.

The 20,000 Aliens who our Prime Minister has seemingly given ‘special status’ will be housed ahead of 8000 Veterans who, for whatever reason,. Find themselves sleeping rough.

As a Country we cannot ask our young people to fight wars but then throw them away when we no longer need them to fight our wars

Charity Begins At Home and we need to make sure we look after our veterans.

Only when our people are adequately accommodated can we look to house strangers.

Housing, Doctors, Hospitals, Dentists & Schools should be freely available for our own. When you want a Doctor or Dentist, you should not have to wait weeks to get an appointment.

I’m truly sorry for people who find themselves in desperate straights but that is not our problem. Britain has done wonderful work across the world and we have a unsurpassed reputation. We cannot ‘welcome’ all and sundry to our shores and it’s time to close our borders and help and assist people in need closer to home.
